Speaking tomorrow

Due to some last minute changes, I am going to be leading the Bible Study tomorrow at school. If you can, I would love to have you there and be part of the conversation. You can be sure that we will discuss some current events.

speaking at Wordup

I don’t have much time, but here is a quick post.

Next Thursday I will be speaking at my school, leading the WordUp bible study that takes place before school. It starts at 7:30 and I will start speaking no later than 7:35. Anyone who wants to come is invited.

School again

Well, it has started again.

But after the first week, I am feeling pretty good about this year. All of my teachers are great, I don’t have massive timelines to memorize, all of the other high schoolers are fantastic, and I can take my computer into study hall so I can get some more work knocked out. I think the only road block this year is going to be advanced math and calculus. So all in all, I’m looking forward to a good year.

ACT And The Bible Study

I took a practice ACT today and I feel pretty confident about how it went (at least until I see my actual score). Now that my class is over, it will be up to me to do some studying on my own for the real test.

Not much happening in the life of me. I got into some really good discussions about politics and speech last night while I was at the Youngs’. This year I’m going to be active in my school’s FCA group and they were asking us to take a day to lead a bible study. I picked one of the Thursday and on my way home, God gave me a topic and main points to go with it. I think that this is going to be one of the better studies I’ve led.

While I cant give any specifics, the title is going to be, “Don’t Forget.” This is one bible study I am really excited about leading, and I encourage everyone to come and hear me.

A New Blog… For Politics

For all four of the people that are currently subscribing to my blog, I would like to first say thank you. In addition, I would like to let you know that I have created a new blog which will revolve around politics and current events (possibly even some religious posts). This new blog will be so that my current blog (jheffley.wordpress.com) will remain about my personal life and journey while I still have the liberty to discuss what I love most.

The link for the new blog is thereaganite.wordpress.com

Who I Support.

At the beginning of the election process, I put my support behind a candidate who fit my beliefs perfectly. Sadly, that person is not longer in the race. Now Senator McCain is the presumptive candidate and at first, I was extremely skeptical. I was one of those people who was complaining that he was too liberal for the Republican party.

But after I started being honest with myself, I found that there is a lot more common ground between me and Senator McCain than I originally thought. Sure, I don’t agree with him on every issue, but I do agree with him on all the issues that matter, and if most conservatives were honest with themselves, I think they would agree.

The most important issues of this election, are all issues that Senator McCain has excellent positions on: the second amendment, the supreme court, foreign policy, and fiscal responsibility. On all of these issues, without exception, Senator McCain has shown that he is the choice for conservatives (Yes, even more so than Bob Barr).

In my study of Senator McCain, he has proven himself to be the man this country needs at this time in history. Expect future posts not only about his positions on key issues, but explanations on why they are the right positions.
